How to choose a conference venue in Sydney

  • Plenary first. Size the venue to your biggest session in the format you'll use (theatre, classroom or cabaret), then check breakout rooms and the space for registration and catering breaks.
  • Location for delegates. CBD venues near Town Hall, Wynyard or Martin Place suit day delegates; Darling Harbour suits interstate guests staying near ICC Sydney.
  • AV and catering. Ask what's in-house and what costs extra, and whether you can bring your own production company.
  • Get a day-delegate rate. Most hotels quote a per-person package covering the room, catering and basic AV, which makes quotes easy to compare.
